When it comes to praying to Caishen, the God of Wealth, or even praying for blessings and good luck in other parts of life, there is something that I feel needs to be cleared up, specially with things like manifesting, the law of attraction, and having faith that things will come to you at the right time, being thrown around a lot.
When I go on Instagram I often see these phrases a lot:
“Trust life's timing.”
“You can't rush greatness.”
“Everything happens for a reason.”
Sometimes it’s linked to religion, with the addition of trust that God has a plan and the advice to just wait for his plan to unfold and then everything comes to you.
The same for manifesting, visualizing and attracting instead of chasing, which often promotes passive waiting until some wind will blow good things your way. Being passive and waiting around in the name of having faith, faith in God, or faith in the Universe.
I know how easy it is to fall into that trap because I did it myself. I did the visualizing, picturing myself in five-star luxury resorts. But without taking the actual action to create content and grow my business, all that manifesting just left me stressing about my finances and far away from the tropical beach resorts I pictured myself at.
Relying on passive attraction doesn't work.
The religion here operates on that exact same reality check. You cannot walk into a temple, pray to the God of Wealth, and then go sit on the couch waiting for a windfall to arrive out of nowhere. This also goes for asking Tudigong for money, and it applies to every other aspect of life.
Money/wealth makes for an easy example, so we’ll stick with that and focus on praying to Caishen, the God of Wealth. He is a god that values hard and honest work, and if you show him you are willing to work hard, to take the opportunities he blesses you with, then you will be rich.
But you don’t pray and just ask for him to make you rich.
Instead you ask him to bless you with opportunities for a promotion, or a better job. Or if you’re a freelancer or run your own business, you can ask him for sales talks to go smoothly, for the energy to take on an extra project, or for more visitors to your store or website.
Then when your prayers are heard and he blesses you, it is up to YOU to take action on the opportunities that you get. Only then you will be blessed and rich in the end, and yes this is far from simply asking him to make you rich and then wait.

In the end this means that you need patience and not passiveness while having faith.
Yes growing your business takes time, yes you might need to take on extra tasks at work for months before a promotion opportunity shows up. But it all depends on you taking the action to speed up the process, on you showing up and doing the work to get the result you want.
